Sandy Swett, Director for the Arts
Sandys job was created to allow her to work towards developing a vision that she has to transform the historic downtown area into an art center. The Main Street, rich in history, lends itself to the art world and her graphic art background aids her ability into making her dream a reality. We are lucky to be able to tap into our local resources and have many talented individuals in the area. Sandy would like to develop an art co-op for selling Kentucky made products and have a performing art enter for lessons, demonstrations, community theater, and music venues. Yarn & quilt shops as well as antique shops would also draw attention to main street. Eclectic shops would follow as we build foot traffic into the downtown. The following is a web of some of the ideas that Sandy is working on. She welcomes you to stop into her office to meet her and to share your ideas. Together, we can turn Main Street into a creative and vibrant destination for the whole family.
